Pedro Garcia

Fa’amanuia (Manu) is a Senior majoring in Accounting. Previously, he attended Southwestern College where he earned his associate's in business administration before transferring. He enjoys playing video games, participating in sports, and networking with others. He is passionate about hearing people's stories and helping them achieve their dreams. Manu has completed four Accounting and Finance internships, with plans for two more in Public Accounting by 2025. His ultimate goal is to obtain certifications as a CPA and CFA, with the aspiration of becoming a Corporate Controller in the future.

Alexandra is a senior majoring in accounting and has been an active member of ALPFA for two semesters. Originally from Mexicali, she transferred to SDSU from Imperial Valley College. Alexandra is bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English. She enjoys playing video games and traveling. She interned with LLME this past busy season, gaining valuable experience in the field.

Emilio is a Senior that is majoring in accounting, and his favorite food is Tacos. Emilio's favorite hobbies include playing Classical Guitar and Fencing. An interesting fact about him is that he has competed in the Junior Olympics for Fencing. Emilio is currently working as an Advisory Intern at CBIZ.

Pedro is a senior majoring in Accounting and a proud first-generation Mexican. He is passionate about outdoor activities and sports, particularly hiking and soccer, and he also enjoys video games during his downtime. Pedro is excited to begin his career as an incoming Tax Intern at CBIZ.

Alexis is a senior majoring in accounting and has been with ALPFA since Spring 2023. His favorite activities include reading, walking, and playing guitar. He looks forward to working in public accounting and has previously interned with BDO in Audit & Assurance.

Nan is a senior at SDSU and will begin her masters degree fall 2024. She has completed two tax internships at Deloitte and LLME, where she gained valuable hands-on experience in tax preparation, compliance. Nan loves trying new foods and traveling to explore different cultures and cuisines. These experiences enrich her life and provide fresh perspectives that she brings to her work and studies.

Nahomi is a senior majoring in Information Systems and a proud first-generation student. She is passionate about her small business as a hairstylist, hiking, and fishing. Nahomi is excited for her senior year and is looking forward to begin her career as an information system analyst intern.

Gabriel is a Senior majoring in accounting. He was born in San Diego and has lived in Chula Vista for 18 years. He has completed two internships with Ernst & Young where he will start as a full-time audit associate next year. He enjoys watching soccer, reading, and going to Aztec Lanes in his free time.

Ivanna is a junior majoring in accounting and spanish. A few of her hobbies include going to the gym, watching sports and travelling. A unique fact about her is that she has been learning Portuguese.

Demmy, a proud bilingual Latina and first-generation college student, is currently a junior majoring in Business Accountancy. She enjoys hiking and spending time at the beach. Her future goal is to achieve her CPA certification.

Isaiah is a senior majoring in accounting. He has spent one semester in ALPFA and is currently a lead board member for Meet The Firms. In his spare time, Isaiah enjoys surfing and lifting weights.

Walid (wah-lee-d) is a junior majoring in accounting, planning to intern in Tax. His hobbies are mainly reading (fiction) and watching shows. Walid speaks Arabic and English, and has lived overseas for half his life.

ALPFA Advisor

Pablo Machado

Mr. Machado is a professor at SDSU, especially for Intermediate Accounting II (ACCTG 334). He previously worked in the assurance practice of the Denver office of PwC. An interesting fact about Professor Machado is that he is experienced on Tae Kwon Do.
